A sparkling whisky cocktail with a dash of heat
It may look fresh and innocent, but The Sussex hides a spicy secret – the stimulating kick of red chilli.
- 50ml/1.75fl oz Royal Salute 21yo Signature Blend
- 10ml/0.35fl oz basil-infused Maraschino liqueur
- 15ml/0.5fl oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 thin slice red chilli
- 10ml/0.35fl oz pear syrup
- Fresh soda water to top
- Combine all the ingredients except the soda water
- Shake with ice and strain into the glass
- Top with fresh soda and stir gently
At its best…
- Served in a tumbler with a single cube of ice and garnished with a slice of pear. Ideal as a digestif at any time of the year.
